Heskey falls into the same catergory as many others in our currant squad, and somebody else will want them all !

None of them are bad players, they are simply all badley managed, coached and led at the moment !

£3.5m and he can go. He has high wages, which will be a problem in the Championship.

isnt there that clause in the big-earner's contracts saying that their wages get halved if the club gets relegated?

Did anyone notice how many of our ex-players scored on Sunday?
Stern John, Dele Adebola, Nicky Forster, Paul Furlong, Tony Capaldi......
even Tommy Mooney's still knocking 'em in!!

Steve Claridge scored for Tamworth too. :D

thought it was walsall, against gilligham?

It might of been actually, did he even play for Tamworth??? LOL, anyway he scored you get the gist of it. Lol.

Some of our players are potentially good players who Bruce did not get the best out of.

I do not think this is the case with Heskey. Ye he can play better, but he never was and never will be a good premiership striker as he simply cannot hit a ball staright at goal from six yards out. The numeracy and magnitude of his misses means we should definitely cash in if we can.

Let pompey buy him..... its our only way of getting our own back!!!!!

Seriously, we need goals next year Emile will not supply them he seems to do his best work 40 yrds from goal but goes absent when needed in the penalty area, the argument will go on if he leaves, the pompey boards will be full of good player bad player arguments like us and those gone before us, truth is he could be so much better than he gives , and he asnever scored the amount of goals required to be a top class prem or england forward, If we can get good money for him let him go.

I know Trundle is 29 but we couldget him ,he would be excellent along side Forse, to score and provide the goals to get us back up, and we would have change from the fee and wages to get another player in. feed.back

I have a mixed opinion on keeping Heskey.

Yes he's not scored enough while at Blues but isn't that because we can't seem to play the ball on the deck and hoof it up to a playerwho's looking to flick it on for another striker - no wonder he didn't score that many.

I can't fault his work rate and I have a feeling that a season in a lower division may just give him the opportunity to score a lot of goals against inferior defenders and improve his confidence as I have a feeling that confidence is the problema and not ability; lets face it what would your confidence be like if you were being slagged off at work by people who had never done your job, where too old to do your job or wish they'd had the opportunity to do your job at the same level - wouldn't your confidence be a little fragile.

A year out of the prem, out of the public gaze, might just do him more good than a transfer to another prem club. Although if the right offer comes in, which I don't think will, then I'd be prepared to sell and spend wisely (if possible); any offers will be based on other clubs thinking we will be desperate to get rid (1-1.5M at most).
